The Pen marks 44th year with ‘nostalgic’ dishes

The Peninsula Manila, which is celebrating its 44th anniversary this month, is offering a slew of “Our Birthday, Your Birthday” dishes and baked products that bring nostalgia. They are available for takeout or delivery at The Peninsula Boutique up to Sept. 30.

“As we celebrate our 44th anniversary on Sept. 14, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude by taking old and new guests down memory lane with our nostalgia-­laden signature Peninsula dishes that our talented food and beverage team has created just for them,” said hotel general manager Masahisa Oba.

Executive sous chef Xavier Castello is offering many of Peninsula Manila’s well-loved culinary creations at special prices. The Lobby favorites such as Pancit Luglug, Grilled Schüblig Sausage, Nasi Goreng, and Phad Thai are each affordably prices at P444. The Peninsula Boutique’s assorted French pastries, such as 70-percent Dark Chocolate Cigar, Coffee Eclair, Banana bread, and Sourdough ciabatta loaf are at P197.60 each.

Old Manila’s famed Angus Beef Ribeye Steak and Beef or Salmon Wellington are priced each at P1,976.

Beverage manager Rico Deang’s bottled Aperol Spritz, Margarita, and Negroni can be enjoyed for P1,976 each.

A minimum single-receipt purchase of P2,000 will afford the buyer complimentary delivery within Makati City.
