Actor David Licauco launched two online food business during the pandemic—Sòbra (@sobra.mnl in IG), which sells Filipino comfort food, and As Nature Intended (www.asnatureintended.ph), a health and wellness shop. A self-confessed foodie, the young entrepreneur lists his favorites—and food he’ll never eat.
Bread, noodles or rice?
Rice for sure!
Favorite silog?
Tocilog. I just love tocino and egg. Samahan pa ng garlic rice! Delicious.
Cake or ice cream?
Hmm…this one’s hard. I’d probably go with cakes! Carrot cake.
Favorite steak cut? And served with what side?
Rib eye. Cooked medium, please, and spinach on the side.
Favorite restos in Manila?
Chilis, Gourmet Gypsy, Manam, Kimpura, Mamou’s and Jollibee.
Favorite cuisine and dish from that cuisine?
Filipino food. To be honest, right now, it’s beef tapa from Sòbra.
Favorite countries to binge-eat?
Japan! I love everything in Japan! The food is great and the people are very friendly. My favorite food in Japan would have to be the Kobe beef and gyudon served on the streets. Amazing.
What don’t you like to eat?
Balut and isaw, for sure. I just don’t like the texture!
What dishes would you want to have before you die?
Sizzling sisig, kare-kare, gising-gising na may kasamang garlic rice and samahan mo pa ng beer! Yung light lang. 🙂
